Job Summary - Lead Contract Negotiator
Overview:
Part of the Lead Contract Negotiators (LCN) team in Global Business Operations.
Supports global agreements for [company], focusing on Research & Development Solutions and clinical offerings.
Manages a portfolio of commercial contracts, primarily customer agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
Monitor contract processes for compliance and customer/vendor satisfaction.
Participate in pre-contract discussions, negotiations, and contract modifications.
Develop departmental procedures for efficient contract completion.
Track approvals and adhere to established processes.
Ensure timely contract delivery, working independently or in teams.
Provide training to enhance legal awareness among non-legal staff.
Attend and contribute to team meetings.
Coordinate legal matters handled by external counsel.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Law degree from a reputable university with a strong academic background.
Licensed to practice law with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
In-house experience in the pharmaceutical industry or familiarity with drug development is a plus.
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts in English.
Strong organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Business acumen with an understanding of government regulations affecting operations.
Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development processes.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to establish trust across the organization.
Open and direct communication style with the ability to engage in constructive discussions.
