The Chief Engineer represents all engineering for this business unit
Working in close collaboration with the head of the BU to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve all targets.
Responsible for driving and ensuring that technical and manufacturing solution meets or exceeds the customer and company objectives/targets. Maintains smooth relationship with customers, ensuring projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with company policies and objectives.
Details:
Contribute to product & process engineering strategy by defining road map for her/his team in line with the business unit strategy and engineering.
Propose Budget for her/his scope in line with BU targets and constraints
Define forecast each month in line with programs update.
Continuously drive activities to optimize her/his engineering cost
Ensure program development in line with technical contracts (programs specific and general contracts), respecting all functional requirements (external/internal) and industrialization goals (quality, cost, timing) according to the program targets.
Ensure design meet Customer and internal specification by leading & directing design direction.
Ensure locally the direct management of his/her report team
Define Goals for team members and provide feed back during regular follow up review.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in design and development in automotive industry and 3-5 years in management position
Experience working with engine and engine related applications.
Experience in managing customer relationships
Strong experience in product & process engineering and in program management
Leadership skills and results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills
Minimum bi-lingual (Japanese fluent speakers - JLPT N2 or higher - and English business level are mandatory) with strong international mindset
Ability to work in a matrix organisation and strong team work mindset
Strong practice of product development and quality tools
