Negotiate, develop strategy for, and draft commercial contracts and other legal arrangements, including for key collaborations; distribution, dealer and sales transactions; and public tender.
Support governance activities of various legal entities across the region with support from local (external) counsel where required.
Partner with regional leadership to drive compliant business practices in the sales and marketing of medical devices and research products.
Conduct legal and compliance training in a variety of areas. Conduct compliance investigations in Japan & Oceania or support Legal, Compliance, HR or other colleagues in conducting investigations in the region. Manage litigation with the support of local/external counsel.
Actively contribute to the implementation or enhancement of the legal team’s processes and policies.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience at a reputable law firm or in-house, ideally both, with proven success in a dynamic business environment.
Strong academic credentials, qualified lawyer in Japan, fluent in Japanese and English.
Preferably experienced in Compliance, including anti-corruption programs. Able to uphold ethical standards, navigate complex business environments, and collaborate effectively with leaders of varying legal expertise.
