Project Manager (Telematics)

In Japan, our client has one of the strongest footprints comprising R&D centers and plants. Connected Car is a fast growing area.

They are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager for the Telematics team who will have project accountability local and global colleagues on a large scale.

Overview:
In the Telematics Project Management team, the Project Manager has overall responsibility of the project accomplishment (QCT of the deliverables).

This is to ensure Project performance objectives are achieved (Customer satisfaction, Product, Quality, Cost, Profitability, Delivery and Schedule)

Responsibilities:

• Manage OEM Projects (Component, System with known technology components, …)
• Is responsible for the achievement of the Project KPI in terms of profitability (both product/development vs Development Activity Payback and Extended Margin), Quality and Production Preparation
• Secure Project resources and control them
• Solve all project issues requiring any type of support of all suitable functions via the Project Escalation
• Check and validate Project Team Members’ activities and proposes timing scenario to achieve milestones
• Define and manage the budget
• Define scope of projects
• Prepare decision making process for relevant committee and challenge the project team readiness
• Prepare and submit business cases and investment plans (Project/System level) and challenge the Technical Project Managers or Launch Managers of the Projects
• Manage all project changes (internal and customer) and coordinates through his team
• Lead appraisals and development of team members
• Is functionally responsible of all project team members, set project objectives, ensure appraisal
• Manage communication with Customers on Project development progress, taking ownership on all matters.

• Education: Degree Engineering Software, computer science
• Over 5 years experience with the Product Development process / V cycle knowledge and practice
• Over 3 years project management experience, including from development to SOP.
• Knowledge in embedded system and software development 
• Embedded system product project management including validation
• Telematics field experience is a plus
• Knowledge of vehicle standard protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, SPI)
• Experience with a system engineering view (requirement analysis, validation process, DOORS, Functional safety)
