Description
Leads and implements the Healthcare Compliance (HCC) program under the supervision of the HCC Officer to ensure that business practices and activities align with internal guidelines, local laws, regulations, and anti-corruption laws such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Serves as a strategic business partner for local management and provides guidance to employees to foster a culture of compliance in daily operations. Collaborates across geographical and organizational boundaries to achieve compliant business growth. This role primarily focuses on a newly integrated business unit, presenting an opportunity to contribute to a growing sector.
This position reports to the HCC Officer and is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Background in Compliance, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Professional or Commercial Education, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, or Auditing.
Demonstrated track record of achieving results, self-motivation, adaptability, and managing complexity.
Partner with leadership teams to promote compliance ownership, accountability, and ethical decision-making.
Provide guidance on business initiatives, promotional strategies, and compliance-related decision-making.
Ensure interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and government officials (GOs) comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a consultant, providing day-to-day guidance and compliance metrics based on risk assessment.
Deploy and communicate compliance policies and procedures, ensuring effective implementation.
Develop and deliver tailored training materials for various levels of employees.
Participate in monitoring programs to identify potential compliance risks and advise corrective actions.
Manage third-party risk assessments, including due diligence and sponsor training.
Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and escalate serious compliance concerns as needed.
Contribute to innovative and compliant engagement strategies for HCPs and GOs.
Minimum BA/BS degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
7 to 9 years of experience in business, legal, and/or compliance roles.
Strong understanding of Japan's regulatory landscape and international anti-corruption laws.
High level of integrity and ethical decision-making.
Ability to make and uphold complex decisions.
Experience in compliance, regulatory frameworks, policy implementation, monitoring, and training.
Independent and objective thinker with strong influencing skills.
Effective conflict resolution and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Comfortable managing ambiguity and complexity.
Experience in people development and management is a plus.
Solution-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
Fluent in Japanese and English (reading, writing, verbal).
